Dalam sebuah riwayat menceritakan pada masa dahulu, ada seorang lelaki sangat alim lagi warak. Lelaki itu menceritakan tentang suatu kejadian ngeri yang dihadapi oleh seorang lelaki yang tinggal sekampung dengannya ketika menemui maut. Selepas dikapan dan disembahyangkan, jenazah lelaki itu pun dibawa ke tanah perkuburan untuk disempurnakan pengkebumiannya. Semasa jenazah itu sampai di tanah perkuburan, keadaan dan suasana di situ begitu sepi sekali. Manakala liang lahatnya sudah sedia menanti di depan untuk dikebumikan jenazahnya. Kemudian kaum kerabat dan sahabat handai lelaki berkenaan menurunkan keranda mayatnya perlahan-lahan ke dalam liang lahad tersebut. Sebaik sahaja mereka hendak meletakkan jenazah itu, tiba-tiba mereka begitu terperanjat apabila terlihat seekor binatang yang sama bentuknya seperti kucing sudah berada di dalam kubur itu.
